Division E Contest

On Saturday, 23^rd Feb 2019, the Division E Meet was held at Oracle Krishna Magnum JP Nagar, after months of preparation. This was a huge event for all the Area Directors and the Division E extended leadership team. Ordering personalized books, creating personalized posters, painting personalized gifts for dignitaries, getting the personalized pens, Division E Meet was all about adding a personal touch to everyone’s lives.

Everyone was confident that the event will be a huge success, but the tension persisted every moment. The contestants had come a few minutes before everyone and were just looking at the empty hall, practicing their speeches. A briefing was taken care of for the contestants and the judges.

The registrations desk started around 12pm.

Division H Contest

Division H held their annual meet on Sunday, 3^rd March along with Division G at Hotel Riviera Suites, Thevara, Kochi.  It was a well-received function with about 175 Toastmasters in attendance.  It started at 9.30 am and ended at 5.30 pm as scheduled.  The major attraction of the event was the annual division level contests of Division G and H.

There were 3 contests and 8 contestants in each contest. DTM Narayanan M was the contest chair and DTM Santhosh Shenoy was the chief Judge.  The meet was anchored well by two energetic emcees: TM Sachin and TM Josleena.  Contest masters were: TM Vishnu, TM Megha and TM Akhil.

Table Topic contest topic was:  “Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one’s courage.”

District Director DTM Nagarajan, Program Quality Director DTM Rajkumar Bansal,  District Adminstration Manager DTM Chimmukutty, District Finance Manager TM Janaradana Pai, Past District Director DTM Sudha Balajee and Coronation chair DTM Gopinath graced the occasion with their presence.

We conducted two lucky draws, one reserved only for those who were present in the hall at the start of the meet and one for everyone, present in the room.  Prizes were books and everyone in the audience was looking forward to their name being called out.  It was a lot of fun.

Each speech was unique in its own way. We had speeches ranging from “ Happiness” to “ Value of a Mother” .

The audience were hooked to each speech and there were oceans of laughter at appropriate moments.

The Contest Master brought about enthusiasm and confidence on the stage which was spread to the rest of the speakers.

Area B4 Contest

Area B4 hosted its Evaluation and Table Topics Contest on 23rd February, 2019, at CMS Jain University, Lalbagh Road. The event started off with the Evaluation contest which was followed by the Table Topics contest. The chief judge for the event was TM Anirudh, the Associate Area Director of Area B3.

The Evaluation contest consisted of the contestants providing their constructive feedback on the test speech titled – ‘Thinking about thinking’ delivered by Preksha Sonegara.

With an outstanding session of evaluation, Nikhil Kumar Jain bagged the first place and was followed by Anikesh Jain and Gaurav Gautam respectively.

 

The Table Topics contest turned out to be what could be called an intense battle. With speeches that absolutely mesmerised the audience, Anokhi Bhardwaj, Mohit Mandani and Nikhil Kumar Jain bagged the first three spots respectively.

Area H3 Contest

Area H3 Area Contest was held on 23rd February 2019 at TCS Infopark Campus,  Kochi.  It had the participation from 5 Clubs: Advanced Toastmasters of Kerala,  UST Global Kochi Toastmasters Club, EKM Toastmasters Club,  TCS Maitree Kochi Toastmasters Club and V-Guard Toastmasters Club. The contest was held at a beautiful auditorium with 40 plus members attending the Contest. The Chief Judge of the Contest was TM Joseph Lukose (Area H2 Director).

Area H1 Contest

Area H1 Contest was held on the 17th of February, 2019 at Hotel Medora, Kozhikode from 2 PM to 6 PM.

The Table Topic given to contestants was  “Can real wealth be measured in money or possession?”

It was a well planned and meticulously organized event. Everything went better than what we expected. The contestants were well prepared and delivered global standard speeches. Interestingly there were nearly 25 non-Toastmaster guests.

Area B1 Contest was held on the 17th of February, 2019 at Cerner H2 Block, Bangalore.

The contest ended on time despite a slight delay in the beginning. .The team deserves a shoutout for meticulous planning. All 4 corporate clubs participated and the winners were from ANZ Manyata and Where is the Mic Club. The venue was beautiful and the food arrangements were adequate. All role players did their job wholeheartedly, resulting in a good impression.

Area E4 Contest

A lot of our Areas and Divisions have a name for themselves. So, when we started planning for the Area E4 Annual Meet, the idea was to make a video wherein people would say, E 4 Energy, E 4 Excitement, E 4 Enthusiasm, etc. and this will end by members shouting, E 4 Each Other. “Each Other” – these two words truly capture the essence of Area E4 and also how this meet, Eu4ia was organized. Right from planning to execution, all the five clubs in the area were extremely enthusiastic and involved.

On the event day, we witnessed three amazing contests, some really fun games by the emcees wherein even the district officers started hooting and cheering, cakes, and pizzas. Also, we ended the program exactly as per what was promised on the agenda, such a rarity for any event. Truly, Eu4ia was created! 🙂

Area E3 Contest

February 16th 2019 was a special day as the Area E3 meet “E-RacE” was conducted. Members’ response was tremendous. This E-RacE was conducted for the speakers from Lead India Speakers Club, Lexicon Toastmasters Club, Tavant Bangalore Club and Tarneto India Toastmasters Club.

The Chief Judge TM Ananada Gopalan made sure a fair contest was conducted along with this judges team.

Our charming Emcee TM Shree from Lexicon Toastmasters club engaged the audience with her anchoring skills.

Our heros of the event, our beloved contestants were well prepared to participate in the E-RACE.
